EAST END BEACH.
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. The usual weekly meeting of the East End Bathing Reserve Committee was held last night, Mr. F. C. J. Bellringer presiding. The balance-sheet of the Easter Monday carnival was presented, showing total takings amounting to £IOB ss, or about KXi ahead of the taking on the previous Easter Monday, It was estimated that the net result of the day would be a credit of about £6O. Vote!* of thanks were accorded to all helpers and supporters, whose names appeared to be legion. It was decided to ask the Citizuns' Band to put a price upon its ocllection of grotesque heads, etc. It was reported that a start would be made immediately with the extension of the pavilion. Mr. W. W. Smith, curator of the Pukekura Park, and -Mr. S. Percy-Smith will meet the committee on Thursday afternoon in connection with the dlaying out of the grounds and the utilisation of the river bank. The committee will work according to the recommendations of these gentlemen.
