RAILWAY CROSSING FATALITY. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Palmerston N., April 12. There was a fatal accident at the Cook Street crossing on Saturday night. A well-known resident of Palmerston, Mr. Owen May, was knocked down and fatally injured hy the Wellington train.

RAILWAY TABLET RTSKS. Carterton, April 12. John Marshall, relieving railway porter at Carterton station, met with an accident this morning. He attempted to exchange a tablet with the engine by hand and the antoniKtic exchange arm on the engine pierced his forearm and tore the flesh away. He was taken to a private hospital for treatment. His injuries are not very serious. KILLED BY COLLAPSING WALL. Auckland, April 12. Charles Anderson, a married man, about 40 years of age, was crushed to death at Epsom by a moving stable supported on trollies. He was underneath the stable when the wall suddenly sank. Regarding the case of Winifred May Cliss, who was admitted to the hospital last night suffering from gas poisoning, information to the police shows that the affair was accidental. She was seized with a fit while attending to a gas stove, and was found lying on the floor with the gas tube disconnected and the gas escaping into the room. Fortunately the doors were all wide open. The woman is now out of langer.

A CHILD FATALLY SCALDED. Auckland, April 12. A child named Cecil Rhodes was scalded by falling into a tub of boiling water at Dcvonport, and died in the hospital. ANOTHER RAILWAY~FATALITY. Dannevirke, Last Night. William Ernest Prince, a farmer it Makotuku, who was knocked down by a locomotive at Diuincvifke on the 20t,'h March, died to-day at the hospital. " A SWAGGER'S SUICIDE. Dannevirke, Last Ni"ht A swagger whose identity is not "ertam, but who is supposed to bo a man known as Fred McLaughlin, committed suicide on Sunday by cutting his throat with a razor underneath the Mangotoro bridge.
