The Young Turks sent him to Berlin to demand that three hundred thousand Germans be sent across the Danube for the purpose of crushing Servia and the intimidation of Bulgaria in order to open the road for the despatch of munitions to Constantinople. In case of refusal, the Young Turks threatened to make a separate peace with the Entente.
