GOLF.
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A four ball bogie handicap will be played on the Nga Motu links this afternoon, post entries, players to choose partners and opponents. Players with a handicap of 18 and under will play those with handicaps of over IS. Members of the- .New Plymouth Club can now arrange to get lessons from Lock, the golf professional, who has taken MeCormick's place. Dr. Walker, the patron of the New Plymouth Club, has donated 100 pohutukawa trees. These, when planted on the links, will add ver.); much to their beaut}'.
This year the New Plymouth Club will be sending a team down to liawera, on June 3rd. It is hoped that members will obtain as much practice as possible before this event as the southern club can generaly more than hold Its own oil its own links. TAIiAHUA CLUB. The secretary of this club reports that the course is now in excellent order, and also that a number of new members are joining.
