TURKS AGAIN ADVANCING, CAVALRY FORCE DRIVEN OFF. SULTAN FIRED' AT. . London, April 8. The Press Bureau states that a small body of Turkish cavalry was sighted close to Kantara (Suez Canal), and driven off. Cairo, April 9. A native fired at the Sultan when he was leaving the palace- The assailant was arrested. The Sultan remained calm and received an ovation. SHOT MISSES THE SULTAN. THE ASSAILANT AN EGYPTIAN. Received April 9, 9.30 p.m. Cairo, April 8. The shot missed the Sultan. His assailant is an Egyptian, aged 25. A DETERMINED ASSAILANT. Received April 9, 11,40 p.m. Cairo, April 9. The culprit confessed that lie intended to assassinate the Sultan on Accession Day, but was prevented by stringent precautions.
