LAWN TENNIS.

UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT,

Auckland, Yesterday

The New Zealand University Tournament was concluded to-day, when Auckland University College won the lawn tennis challenge cup of five matches. Auckland won three, Canterbury (holders of challenge, cup) one, and Otago also secured a match. The chief match of the afternoon was the men's clmmpion(Otago) successfully defended'his title against A. K. Hawley, of Canterbury.

OTAGO EASTER TOURNEY.

Duncdin, Yesterday

The Otago Lawn" Tennis Association's Easter Tourney was continued under Ideal weather conditions. There was a large attendance, of spectators.

The final of the men's championship doubles was won by Ollivcr and Sheppard (Christclmrch), who defeated lk,i.y and Sinclair (Duncdin) three sets to one, after a fairly even contest.

Miss I l '. Campbell won the hulk's' championship singles for the seventeenth time in 18 years. She did not compete in 1913.

Olliver will be matched against Waine Pearse in the final.

All the other events will he completed on Saturday afternoon.

The ladies' handicap singles final was wsn by Mrs Buchanan, Duncdin, who beat Miss Cook, Duncdin, o—o.

WELLINGTON TOURNEY.

Wellington, Yesterday

The Wellington provincial tennis toirncy concluded to-day. The finals of the championships were:—■ Men's Singles.—Swanston heat Peacock, 7—5, fi—3, o—7. Ladies' Singles—Miss K. ITughos b?at Miss Stevens, o—3, 6—2. C'omhinecl Doubles.—Miss Travel's and Swanston heat Miss Travel's and S;ilinoiul, fi—-I, o—3.
