Received Apjl 8, 12.5 a.m. Paris, April 7.

Official: Tlie advance at Eparges was made possible owing to the wonderful artillery fire since February. The Germans dug caverns of considerable depth. At the time of the attack they were at the bottom of the excavations. The concussion of the projectiles extinguished the lamps, and the mene were plunged into darkness, and made prisoners while the soldiers in the trenches were blotted out by artillery.
