EXPORT OF EGGS.
KILLED BY CUTE YAXKEES.
llv Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington. Tuesday
Interesting information regarding the first organised venture in the exportation of eggs from X'ew Zealand was submitted to the Poultry Conference today. It was stated that the condition in which eggs were landed was little short of scandalous, a great manv being totally unfit for use. As a contract to this, it was worthy of note •hat a shipment of l!;U crates of San Knii»-i--co eggs was landed in Wellington recently in first-class condition. Three shipments were sent, from Xew Zealand, 'prices realised being '/. cents ('lL'.."Td) and ,'io cents respectively. These netted to suppliers about 7%d, >!'', d and (! : ;/,d resnectivelv, showing a Ins., of about ii'/id, !ld and 7d n dozen in each case on what would have been realised locally.
Tn presenting the report, Mr. Cooper
said there was little chance of any further exports being made until consignors were in a position to dictate prices and get fair treatment from the shipping company juul from brokers on the other side.
