OPUNAKE v. NEW PLYMOUTH. Three rinks of Opunakc bowlers visited New Plymouth yesterday and played matches against New Plymouth in the morning and West End in the afternoon. The match against New Plymouth resulted in a win for the local team by ten points, Opunake being down in two rinks and up in one. Ths visitors were welcomed to tlrtTgreen bv the president of the club (Mr. W. J. Peun), Mr. W. C. Dudley replying on their behalf. They were also the guests of the local club at dinner at the Criterion Hotel. Detailed scores;—

The maich in the afternoon resulted in a win for West l-.'ml team by 17 points, the visitors Icing one up at one rink and down at the other two. Mr. F. J, Hill, president, welcomed Opunake to the West End green, this being the first occasion on which the coastal bowl'crs have played there. Mr. W. E. Dudley suitably responded. He stated that he had h;ard the green spoken of disparagingly as a wind-swept place, etc., and was quite surprised to find it in such fine condition and its members ouch gooo "sports." Early in the afternoon the green played keenly, but a slight shower took some of the keenness off. During the afternoon the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea. FITZROY v. INGLKWOOD.
Four rinks from the Fitzroy Bowiina Club journeyed to luglewood yesterday morning, and played two matches against the local club. They were most hospitably entertained by tiie Inglewood Club. The visitors won the morning match by a narrow margin, but r.he home team had its revenge in the aftirlioon, when it gained the advantage by a substantial number of points.
