ANNUAL CONFERENCE,

At the fourteenth annual conference of the Federated Catholic Clubs of New Zealand a resolution was passed expressive of profound regret at the demise of His Lor ship Bishop Grimes, and deep appreciation of his great pioneering work in founding the now flourishing diocese of Canterbury. It was decided that the executive offices of the Society he continued in Wellington, and that next annual conference bo held there. The election of officers resulted: —Pre-sident-general, his Grace Archbishop Redwood; president, Mr. J. L. Leydon; vice-president, Mr. G. Dee; Hon. secretary, Mr. T, H. Forster; lion treasurer, Mr. E. B. Reade; executive: Messrs o,Kane, F. Galvin, J. Fagan (all of Wellington. The results of the competitions arc: Timaru first, Christclnirch second, Wellington third.
