ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A CHILD DROWNED.

Duncdin, Last Night. The daughter of William Adams, junr., a farmer of Otokia, was found drowned in a water-hole shortly before six o'clock last night. It seems that thc child, who was two and a half years of age, strayed from the house while milking was in progress, and fell into the hole, being found drowned twenty minutes after she was last seen about the house. At the inquest a verdict of accidentally drownad was returned.
RUN DOWN BY A TRAIN. . Cliristeimrclt, asfc Night. James Sanderson, of Sydenham, employed at the gasworks, was knocked down by a train while crossing the railway lines at Wnltham Road, crossing this morning. He received injuries to his leg and hip.
A GUNNER INJURED. Christclmrcli, Last Night. Gunner Frank Olsen, who sustained a fractured skull as the result of a fall over a cliff while on duty at Sumner Barracks, Lyttelton, on Saturday morning, is reported to be making a slig"it improvement. .
