An aviator bombed the town and had tw6 or three civilian victims.
In the Champagne district the French progressed slightly. On Saturday and Sunday the enemy's aircraft showed unwonted activity, as the weather was particularly favorable. Bombs were dropped at' Lillers, St. Omer, and Estaircs. The buildings damaged were neither occupied by soldiers nor used for military purposes. The total damage to personnel was thre e women and four civilian, killed and six civilians wounded. The bombs were dropped from a great height, in one case 0000 ft., preventing the airman aiming deliberately nt any, military objective. In this the procedure i» a tribute to the respect in which the enemy holds British airmen. The Colonial Office announces that at Singapore normal conditions are lestored. All the rioters - exespt •■olevon have surrendered, been captured or killed. Five were shot after trial, one sentenced to fifteen years' and seven to ona year's imprisonment.
