When Charles Harvey appeared on remand in the Magistrate's Court, charged with the murder of a Chinew storekeeper on September 12, the police asked permission to withdraw the charge, upon the recommendation of the Crown Law Office. Tlie only evidence against accused was his own statement or confession. The police had inquired into that, and were satisfied that no jury could coirrict Earvey. Accused accordingly was discharged.
