BURIAL OF BISHOP GRIMES.

A iPAINFUL DEADLOCK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, March 19. Dean Hills made an application for permission to bury the late Bishop Grimes in the Cathedral, which clergy and laity consider the greatest visible monument to the late prelate's years ■of labor. The application was thought to be only formal, and astonishment has been caused by the reply from the Minister of Internal AlTairs that he has no power to grant the request. It I is pointed out that three years ago the ' late Bishop Lciiihan, of Auckland, was buried in St Patrick's Cathedral, and further communications have been sent to tlie Minister.
