Regulations under the Iron and Steel Industries Act, passed by Parliament last year, and which is designed to eacojirago the iron industry, appeared in this week's Gazette. They provide that the Governlnent bounty shall he paid on a minimum quantity of 1000 tons of pig-iron froraj ison-sand. The minimum of locally, made steel upon which the bounty is to' be paid is 100 tons, and on puddled bar iron a minimum quantity of 250 tons or pig-iron is to contain not lom than ."i l h cent, of pi;re iron. "
