I HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington, Last Night. The Premier has received the following from the High Commissioner, dated London, March 18, 2.40 p.m.:— Army officers: Killed 50, wounded fi3, missing 2. Men: Killed (57, wounded 353, missing- 42, prisoners 104. The Admiralty reports that the Bayano lost men of the Royal Navy 125, mercantile crew (specially entered) 57. At the Dardanelles the men killed numbered 23, wounded 37. Paris reports continued progress in the region of Perthes. North of Mc3nil a position was gained of very great importance. The enemy were aware of this, and made a. most violent attempt to regain it, led by a Landsturm regiment supported.Dy Guards. These were ' mown down by tliee fire of the Allies' mitrailleuses. But few survivors returned to their own trenches.
