Tho Napier l'ark Racing Club's mooting ojion.s to-day. The acceptances fur the first day's events arc very niinicrnus, and, in view of tlic Easter meetings, tlic running of t!ie several horses will be of more than usual interest. Amongst the acceptors arc Croo->ns, Chortle, Red Bonk, lluslieen, Kewi Poto, AHiltiplv. Indigo. Itutiksist, and other good handicap performers.
Sir Donald looks to bo in a class of his own in the Hack Hurdles, and may start a warm favorite.
Tho Esk Handicap looks very open. If Multiplicity and Allan Doone go to the post they will command considerable respect.
Kcwi Poto tops tho list in tho Napier Cup with 5.13, a hip weight considering a comparison of his performances with those of Indigo, Multiply, Banksia. and Fair Rosamond. The latter has duly to run up to the Wanganui form to take a lot of boating, and Indigo may also prove a thorn in the side of the black horse.
Blackball appears to have struck form, and with Kaminoiio may share efavoiitism in tin- Welter Handicap. A pretty race is promised in tho S.inling Stakes, Goldfoil is a proved horse, but Lorcto and Sicily can all go fast for five furlongs.
Multificial is said to bo endowed with the Multifid turn of speed, and may V as well backed as Perhaps in the Hack Welter.
Considerable interest centres in the showing of Chortle, Croesus and Co. in the' Flying Handicap. The top-weights may bo all the bettor for a pipe-opener, in which case recent rorm points to Hushcon being as fit as any of the others.
Spain impressed the writer as a speedy customer in a gallop she put up at Wanganui, and she may show up in the Trial Stakes, in which Ilyhuni and Admiral Beatty look the most promising of the others engaged.
