TURKISH ARTILLERY INEFFECTIVE Received March 10, G. 5 p.m. London, March 10. The Petit Parisien states that minesweepers in the Dardanelles, protected by a French squadron, destroyed five rows of mines in the vicinity of Chanak. The Turks have replaced the silenced batteries with field-guns, their shrapnel causing insignificant damage. The Queen Elizabeth and Irresistible replied with overwhelming effectiveness at twelve thousand yards.
