(From Our Residua Reporter.) SERIOUS ACCIDENT. Mr. W. F. Pearce, of 'Makuri Road met with a serious accident at the Wai' wiri Koad, Toko. Mr. Pearce was return ing from th a factory -with :an 'express, drawn by two horses, wlien a ballast train ran into him. killing the horses and throwing Mt. Pearce clear of the engine. Help was soon at 'land, and the unfortunate man was immediately 'brought to Stratford by train mul conveyed to the hospital. His iniuries are serious, including a broken leg and bad cuts on tile head. CLUB-ROOT IX 'TURNIPS. Quite a number of farmers renort that their turnip crops are infected with club root. This will seriously affect the wintpr supply of feed for the cows. Samples of the infected turnips have been sent to tlie Agricultural Deoartment, Wellington, for 'their advice. A HALLELUJAH WEDDING. A hallelujah wedding is not an everyday occurrence. Yestcrdayi at the Salvation Army Hall Mr. J. R. Witt .Was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Ada Oro-n. daughter of Mr. J. W. Green, of '.'ivvmouth. Miss Ivy Witt and Miss Atta Bound were the bridesmaids, while Lieut. Wattineley acted as best man. The ceremony was conducted by Adjutant Gibbs/of Eltham. After the usual wedding breakfast at Beaumont's, the happy couple left by train for Wanganui, Where the honeymoon is to be spent. THE MOUNT ATX'HOUSE.
