The Governor lias received the following' war telegram from the Secretary of State for the Colonics: —"The French War Office on March (ith stated that in view of the situation in the Dardanelles, the French Government had decided to concentrate an expeditionary force in Northern Africa." CONCENTRATION IN EGYPT. PREPARED FOR EMBARKATION. AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE. Received March fl, 10.30 p.m. London, March 10. The expeditionary forces are eoncenttrating in North Africa, rady to embark at a moment's notice.. I WHAT THE CONCENTRATION MEANS. A BASE FOR THE TURKISH CAMPAIGN 1 . Auckland, Last Night. When addressing a gathering of his !■ constituents' at Waiuku to-night the Prime Minister read a copy of a telegram from the Secretary of State for the Colonies with reference to the concentration of Freneli troops in North Africa. "That means, said Mr. Massey, "that instead of Belgium and the Eastern front being the' two centre? of operations as they have been up to the present, a French and probably a British force will operate iun the Dardanelles, and a base -will be established ir. Northern Africa. It is a most important move, and the result will be of very great importance in the struggle. You can look for very stirring news from the new centre of operations in the near future," Mr. Massey concluded.
