Mr. Russell n. Bartlcy, who lias been appointed resident tramways engineer, arrived in New Plymouth on Monday; evening. i;|
Mr. ,T. R. M. Stewart, inspector of agencies ioi the National Mutual Life Association, has boon appointed manager for this Association for t'hc Taranaki district, and will most lkiely make New Plymouth his headquarters. Mr. J. P. Marx, of Miingatoki, who met with a serious accident to one of his knees some months ago, is coming to New Plymouth for a few days for surgical treatnietn. Mr. Munro, who hag for some time •been engaged on Mr. Wilkinson's staff at Elt/ham, leaves for Sydney to-day|, having accepted a commission as officer in one of the South African corps engaged in operations with the German forces in neighboring territory. Mr, Munro was a unit in the Boer war, and his previous knowledge °f the conntry and conditions should prove useful in the present c/impaign.—Eltham Argus.
