MOA SCHOOL DISTRICT.
MEBHXG OP ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the above Association was held in the Inglewood school on Otli March. Present: Messrs Simpson (Durham)", in the chair, Codd (Dudley), Stevens (Norfolk), Shuttleworth (Waitui), Rowlands (Kent road), O'Connor (Waiongona), Capper (Ivaimata), and Henwood (Lincoln). The chairman stated that as the secretary had left the district, all books, of the Association had been handed in to him, and he asked the meeting to elect a secretary. After discussion, the chairman, at the request of those present, agreed to carry out the secretary's duties.
A circular memo, to school committees from the Education Board, dealing fith the unsed portions of school sites, brought forth a 1 considerable amount of discussion, and it was decuTed (one member declining to vote either way) on the motion of Mr Codd (Dudley), that the following resolution be forwarded to the Board: Tlmf this meeting of dele, gates of small country schools herewith protest against the action of the Education Board in amending regulation 05 whereby those school committees whose schools are provided with from five to fifteen acres as a school site are to be I debarred from using same as a source of revenue for the upkeep of the particu!'ar scliool affected, and trust the Board will see fit to withdraw such amendments. The matter of nominating some membo- to contest the election to tlie Board which was understood to he held in
April next, was duly considered. A deal of discussion took 'place as to the extent tlie Association could move
in furthering tlie cause, of education,
and members expressed the opinion that tlie meetings should be called earlier to allow of discussion of matters mentioned.
