EAST END RESERVE.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The meeting of the East End Bathing Reserve Committee was held at the Pavilion on Monday evening, Mr F. C. J. Bellringer presiding, and thirtyone members being present. It was 3ecidcd to write thc Eltham Band re final arrangements for its en. gagement for the Sports Carnival which is to be held on Easter Monday. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Emeny for her present of the Allies' flag, and it was decided that this should be sold on Easter Monday, the proceeds to be devoted to the Belgian Relief Fund.

Mr W. W. Smith will be asked for his assistance in laying out and planting the grounds,- which work it is proposed should bo undertaken at once.

It was decided to include on the programme fox the carnival a competition for the shield so kindly presented to the Life Saving Clubs of Taranaki Ivy the late "Mr Geo. Tabor. .Feeling that there have been so many calls on tlie townspeople of late, it was resolved j n future to purchase toys, ■ etc,, fo l)e competed for at picnics. It was pointed, out, however, that the comI "niittce will gladly accept outside help j should anyone feel disposed to assist I in this connection.
