TARANAKI BUILDING SOCIETY.
GOOD RESUTS ATTAINED. "~ At a meeting of directors of the Taranaki Land, Building and Investment Society (Permanent) held on Monday, it was decided to pay off G. Series after { payment of tjijs month's (February) subscription. Tliis series ■will, therefore, mature in six years and elevenmqntuftj, which is most satisfactory to the shareholders in that series. A member borrowing £IOO in this series would have paid in monthly instalments £l3l Hs 4d from which, deducting the amount off the loan, £IOO, would leave as paid for: interest the balance, £3l 8s 4d. Tho above figures, from a borrower's point of view, speak for themselves, It would be difficult to find any similar society :'iii' New Zealand showing such excellent re- s suits. The Society's reserves and un-. divided profits as at September 30 last amounted to £235 19s Id. -The profits distributed during the last sevenyears, to borrowers and investors alike,, amounted to the large sum of £14,065 os. The Society has not at the present moment a forfeited property on their books. . The society's system of makingloans renayable by monthly instalments and accumulated profits enables persona-: of moderate income to acquire land' by purchase or lease and to build houses, when they would otherwise probably beunable to do so. Particulars, as to repayment, etc., can always be obtained' from the secretary, Mr E. P, Web'ser; 'Devon Street. ■ , • ■
