, MEETING OF GENERAL COM- j 1 MITTEE. I A meeting of the General I )f the Egmont A. and P. Association wsia held on Saturday afternoon. , Messrs J. J). Hall (Hororata) and G.' F. Mills (Bulls) who acted as judges at' 1 the November show, wrote asking that their travelling expenses be allocated to the prize list. Mr Hall said lie would like his expenses, about ,C 5, to go towards Mr R Browne's work in renovating and improving pastures. Mr Morrissey moved that Messrs Hall and Ellis be heartily thanked for their contributions, and that the committee accede to Mr Hall's suggestion with regard to the allocation of prize monev.

The president seconded the motion, which was carried. The Hawcra branch of the W.C.T.U. wrote asking if the Association would meet tile cost of hire of the rest tent at the show. The tent had proved n boon to mothers and children. It was decided to pay the cost, ?.ss. The ground committee reported having appointed Mr A. Reid, of Patea, as caretaker, vice the late Mr A. C. West. The committee also reported having authorised the following work: Painting the produce shed; levelling and tarring the floor of the produce shed; deepening the bull pens next, the cattle yards; dividing the cattle yards into three divisions.

On the motion of Messrs Hamilton and Campbell, the report was adopted. The ground committee suggested that tile following necessary work should be carried out: The provision of more facilities for washing cattle; roofing and painting the open stand: the erection of gates at each end of the cattle race.: ad ding to the dog pens; levelling the ring; and painting the grandstand. Jhe president said the freater part of this work could be done by the caretaker.

The recommendations were left to the ground eommi*t<n\ with power to act. It was subjected that the levelling of the ring should be attended to before the show.—Star.
