THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. , Timaru, Last Night. . I'jre Brigade Conference continued this afternoon. The Pahiatua remit was carried, requesting t-.io Government to frame a by-law dealing with the storage of explosives generally. The elections 'resulted in Mr Campbell (Tima;ru) being elected as president, Mr Seantlebury withdrawing. m' SS J* (Addington), Seantlebury (Reefton) were elected out of -23 nominations. Mr Osborne (Onehiinga) was re-elected treasurer. Die retiring president, Mr Salmon, was elected an honorary life member. Several alterations in the competition rules were pronosed, and some were adopted. It was arranged that the executive j'Tioiutl moot the Minister on Wednesday in regard to the compulsory installation of automatic fire alarms in large storeswarehouses, boardinghouses, and hotels.
