Cleffg (Mr. Thomson) sued F. W. Scott for''-fi 14s Id for goods sold and delivered. Tlie goods included a suit of clothes purchased from plaintiff's shop bv the defendant's wife for an employee of defendant's, and lie contended that lie was not responsible for it. The Magistrate upheld the defendant, and lionsuited the plaintiff. The Defence Department prosecuted a youth named Oswald M. Thomas for failing to attend drill on the 27tli January last. Lieutenant Humphrey, who appeared for the Department, said that Thomas not only habitually absented himself from drill, but boasted of it to others. He was fined £l. and costs 7s, in default seven days' hard labor. John Sewell and 0. Boldt were each fined ss, and costs 7s, for cycling at night without lights. Frederick and Charles Coldrick were prosecuted for . throwing stones, to the damage of property at Egmont Village on Sunday night, the 31st ultimo. The Mission TTall at the Village was bombarded with stones, and a window in a private house broken. Defendants were fined £1 each, and costs 13s. The Maaistrate gave his reserved decision in the ease of Police v. A. Tuing for unlawfully selling liquor on Sunday. 20th December last. The defence admitted supplying liquor, but claimed the licensee was entitled to do so, as the consumers were bona fide guests of his. The Magistrate reviewed the ease at length, and held that at the time the licensee must have known that the persons consuming the liquor could not be classed as guests. He was convicted and fined £3. and costs 7s. A second information was withdrawn. ,
