MKETI.VG OF CONTROLLING BODY. A full meeting of the committee of the West End Foreshore Improvement Society was held at the Bungalow, Kawaroa Park, hut night, presided over by the president, Mr A. E. Sykoa. There were -ilsj present: Messrs. j. G. Russell, J. Simpson, K. Inch, jieaven. J. Ward, McMauus, E. Boal, Allen and Staples. J. M. Box (secretary) and E. Cattlcy (treasurer). The secretary reported that, in furtherance of the resolution (passed at last meeting, he had written to the Ngaiiiotii Foreshore Improvement Society oll'ering the hearty co-operation of the West Riders at their picnic on Anniversary Day, and asking for reciprocal action at the Carnival on Easter Monday. '.rhe sub-committee reported bavins let ilie work of removing the hillock near the Bungalow, and this was now nearly completed. Another committee reported regarding steps taken to erect a fence between the railway line and the Park: and that the tender of Mr A.nstis had been accepted. The .helter-skelter and ccean-wave committees were granted a further week in which to report. The Advertising Committee recommended regarding ar. allocation for the New Plymouth, Eltham and Stratford newspapers, and their report was adopted. Preliminary arrangements were made for a monster procession, headed by th:: Citizens' Band and grotesque characters, to traverse the principal streets •between the Red House Hotel and Kawaroa Park. The committee expressed its intention of making this the greatest procession in the history of the town, and it was confidently hoped that it would be a verv big attraction to New Plymouth on Easter Monday. The committee decided to erect entrance gates, with stone wall, at tb : junction of Tiseh Avenue and Wevmouth street, out of the proceeds of the carnival.
