Attack On Egypt
THE FIGHTING AT TOR. IMPORTANT STRATEGICAL VICTORY, THE lIERO OF TOUSSOUM. Received 15, 9.10 p.m. London, February 15. The Daily Chronicle's Cairo correspondent reports that the defeat at Tor clears the Turks from the southern portion of the Sinai Peninsula, the victory having the greater significance' owing to its situation. Tor being the biggest quarantine station in the world. All Mecca pilgrims must pass here. The hero of the Toussoum attack was Pilot Ilardinge, who was severely wounded in the arm and leg. He refused to to leave his post, and cried. "Bring me a chair and prop me up. I'll see yon through." The leg has since been amputated.
