CORRESPONDENCE.

BAKER ROAD SPECIAL RATE. (To the Editor.) Sir, —Tn connection with the special rate, I would like to know why one lot of petitioners' names was advertised, and not the other; also, why the meeting that was called about two months ago was stopped? Perhaps Mr. Brown or some of the special raters could tell. Anyway, Mr. Editor, I think the Mangoroi settlers arc very lucky in having two nice metalled roads to town — that is, when they get their toy road metalled. As I am not a ratepayer, I will say no more.—l am. etc.,, SPECIAL KATE. Mangorci, February 11.
