WAXGAXUI DEFEATS 11AWERA. On Tuesday and Wednesday a team from the Victoria Club, Wanganui, played a Ilawera team at Ilawera, the visit, ors winning by 174 runs on a twoinnings match. Tlie visitors had a strong combination, which included five Wanganui representatives. Victoria batted first and scored !!7. T'lamircs coming out with the fine figures of n'ne wickets for 33 runs. llawcra's first innings produced only 7!), Ble.mircs (3!)) anil Eynskcy (12) being the oniy doublefigure scorers. L. P. C*v<> took five wickets for 21) runs, and Luxford four for 8. "Wanganui did much better in their second venture, when thev notched 255 runs" (11. P. Cave 07, Wood K. 11. Cave 41, ITames 35, Saunders 30, A. 0. Cave 13 not out). Rlainires (six for 71) was the most : -"'ssfu' Ilawera bowler. Tfawera's scan.'; killings closed for 00 (Blamires 27, Clardner 27, Peters 12). L. P. Cave took five wicketa for 40 runs and Luxford five for 55.
