There has been heavy lighting at Bcthune, La Bassee and Triple. Two trainloads ot wounded arrived, including 4'oo Germans. Official: There have been no infantry actions since the sth. Received 7, 5.30 p.m. Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, February (i. Cardinal Bourne vixitcd the Catholic regiments in France and addressed them at various points in the lines. He watched, from a u elevated position just out of shell range, a British and German artillery duel. His address to 800 Irish Guards was about to take place on the firing line when it was rendered more realistic by the defeaning noise of i.n aeroplane soaring overhead. Journeying about the front, the Cardinal lived on bully beef, hard tack, and the actual wartime food supplies to the soldiers. AN IMPORTANT MOVE. FINANCING FRIENDLY GOVERNMENTS. FIGHTING WITH ALLIES. JOINT ACTION TAKEN. Received 7, 11 p.m. Paris, February 7. Britain, France, and Russia are arranging to overtake in equal portions the advances made, or in process of making, to countries fighting with them, or disposed to shortly join the common cause. The advances are to be covered partly by the resources of the three Powers, and partly by a loan which will be issued at an opportune moment, to be named by the Ministers of Finance. It lias been decided to proceed jointly in all future purchases from neutrals. Measures have been adopted to facilitate Russian experts to re-establish, as far as possible, the parity of exchange between Russia and her allies. The Finance Ministers will meet again shortly.
