Riley, fore--1 man of the jury. At the Town Board meeting on Monday evening, Mr Jackson, Opunake agent for the Tarmcrs' Co-operative Society, waited on the Board and asked permission to cut the roadway for the purpose of laying pipes to connect several private residences to the Society's water tower. The Farmers' Society are installing a good water system to their yards, and having water to spare, will sell it to private idividuals. The Town Board j decided to hold over consideration. Some of tlie members were not inclined I to consider a private company entering j on civic right. The Cemetery Board accepted Mr j Holmes' tender ( £ls 10s) for lease of i paddock. I TOWN BOARD. The ordinary monthly meeting of Uie Town Board was held on Monday evening. Present;— Messrs Mulloy (chair-" man), Trotter, Sorrensen, and Ross. Two tenders were received for carting boulder stone, viz., Ja's. Hickey, 2s Cd per yard, and Ceorge Vickery, 2s Od pei yard. The tender of the former was accepted. The tender of Mr J. W. Mildenhall was accepted for making dog collars, price 7y 4 d. The. lease of the Domain paddock was granted to Mr Macßcynolds at £8 10s per annum. Two other prices ('A. C. Donnelly, £8 and C. P. Gord, £7 10s, were received).
