ROYAL PICTURES. The feature on to-day's programme "Tile Fourth Lady," is a Nordisk comedy of high order. Lieut. Hugo induce iiis friend Felix to impersonate his sister Leoni, because a prior engagement prevented her from being the, fourth lady in a quadrille at the regimental sports. Felix found it very embarrassing, especially when he met Leoni, who had managed to get out of her prior engagement. The train is delayed and there fore the. passengers are located at a hotel. Here Felix manages to get away unobserved in the early morning. Still posing as Hugo's sister, he is lionised by the Colonel and his daughter, Bertha, the latter being engaged to Hugo. The quadrille passes off satisfactorily, and later Hugo learns that Leoni, his sister, is actually arriving. Felix manages to resume his masculine garb and hurIries away from the colonel's house with Hugo, bertha follows them and imagines Hugo is false to her. Leoni enters into the scheme by which Hugo and Felix explain things to the satisfaction of the colonel and Bertha. An excellent programme supports this star comedy. EMPIRE PICTURES. "The High Ridel's of Petersham," one of the best pictures of it's kind, will be shown to-day at 2.30, and again at 8 o'clock to-night at the Empire Picture Palace. It is a powerful dramatic study by the Vitagraph Company. Quick follows the blood in the veins of Richard Coke, as he urges his horse over the mountain on his way to Petersham. Descending into the valley, he reaches the outskirts of the little township whose first acquaintance he is destined to make under curious cincumstan|ccs. Slightly ahead of him a frail girl is briskly driving a trap. He learns that the girl's name is Emily Burnay, and that her father is the editor of the local newspaper and that he has earned the enmity of some of the people owing to his outspoken exposure of an illicit still. He spends most of his time at the newspaper office, and whe n the editor receives the warning, "beware of the night raiders of Petersham," Richard resolves to stand by him. The "Raiders" have threatened to burn the place down, if another edition is published. The night raiders masked in long hoods, start to fire the building. Burnay and his men then rush out, and after a terrific fight, drive the raiders into full retreat. Richard, tired out, sinks into a chair, and dreams of what we all anticipate—his hiippy marriage to Emily.

The supporting programme is also good, and includes a laughable Keystone comedy, "Caught in Tights," and other pictures are: "Angel of the Chile!)," (drama); (Cascades of the Pyrenees,'' (scenic); "A Modern Romeo," "A Deal in Statuary" (comedies); and "Pathc's Latest Gazette." This programme is shown to-doy and to-night only as a new programme, featuring "Tcss of the. Storm Country," with Mary Piokford in the leading role, will be introduced on Monday.
