WAIMATE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
It was decided at a recent meeting of the general, committee to hold a gift auction sale of all vegetables and other articles which the exhibitors wish to hand over to the society for that purpose. Any other gifts or contributions which the public wish to make will be thankfully received. Two new classes have been added-' to the honey section this year for non-prize-winners—Best sample granulated and liquid honey, which should draw a r number of entrise. Claßaes for soap and 1 stencil work have also been added to their respective sections. The sports cotnnlittec' have decided to include, in their programmTj, this year a class for the best gig horse in harness, pace, style land action to be judged (all horses in training exempt). First prize, gold medal;, donated by Mr. C. Jones; second prize, silver medal, given by Mr. A. Hansen.
Everything is now well in hand, and, judging by the number of enquiries made, certainly points to record entries .being received for the show on Wednesday, February 10th.
