The Press Bureau states tbat the rebels operating in the south-east corner of German South-West Africa have definitely abandoned the idea of invading the Cape Province via Schuitdrift. After the recent set-back to the Union troops Colonel Bonwer, operating from Steinkopf, seized Ramansdrift, and cleared the country of rebels. We now hold the entire line of the Orange River* There Is no enemy on Union territory near the eastern border, and the advance generally has been checked.
