OPUNAKE. The Methodist bazaar was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, Mr Wilkinson, Mil., officiating at the opening. The principal ace m the "ceremonial" was a small boat '"cut loose" by Mrs Guy, the oldest Methodist resident here. The boat was loaded with children's toys. The Eev. It. B. Tinsley, chairman of the bazaar committer, was responsible for aosti of the promoting work. Several side-shows seemed to do good business. The stall-holders were:—Plain stall, Mesda.ra.es Tinsley, Collins and Guy; mystery stall, Mrs Cr.mll and Miss Trotter; No. 2 plain stall, Mcsdan:es Mildenhall, Cox, Crocker and Jtiiynor, lolly stall, Miss I. Collins; produce stall, Mr C. Warner; model bakery, .Mr Lord; cocoanut alley. Mr K. t'annc-11; refreshment stall, Mrs G. Lodn.ev: shooting gallery, Mr A. Pettigrew. The Seaside Society hold the annual waterside gala on Wednesday. The Ka ■ponga folk are -joining in. We anticipate an exceptionally large attendance. It is only a matter of a short while and 'horse teams will be totally off tihe roads/ Within three weeks tihe coach team between Manaia and Opunake will be replaced by 'motor. We will havi> i service leaving here at 6 a.m. and midday, and arriving at 'Hawera at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Elthami mail coach proprietors are putting on an up-to-date motor 'bus. The Taranaki Transport Company, who are running several freight motors, are also establishing a fine bWaily motor 'bus service between here and New Plymouth. Verily, Opunake, will be well' served 'by motor facilities. We are glad to read in the News ttiat Mr G. W. Sogers is up from his bed of sickness and will soon take his place again amongst our business men. 1 Mrs J. Feaver, another patient from Opunake, has just undergone a serious operation at the New Plymouth hospital.
