THE WHEAT SHORTAGE.
POULTRY INDUSTRY'S PERIL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, January 22. Evidence was given before the Commodities Commission regarding the shortage of bran and pojlard. It showed that Sydney firms had been buying at higher than the llxed price, and exporting to Victoria, where the price was still higher. Mr Ashford stated that though the millers were producing 800 tons of pollard weekly it was impossible for poultry farmers to secure any, owing to firms exporting. Millers were now undertaking to keep sufficient products from the wheat bought by the Wheat Board for New South Wales' consumption, Mr Ashford stating that those refusing to do so would be dealt with in a summary manner.
