THE CATHOLIC FEDERATION.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. ( IV Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The fourth half-yearly meeting of the Wellington Diocesan Council of the Now Zealand Catholic Federation commenced at St. Patriekjs Hall to-day. The Very Rev. Dean McKenna, V.G., presided, and His Grace Archbishop O'Shea was present during a part of the proceedings. Among the delegates were.—Stratford, Mr H. J. Doherty; Wanganui, Very Rev. Dean Holly and Messrs Carmody and Redwood. His Grace Archbishop O'Shea addressed the gathering, and congratulated the delegates on their attendance. He stressed the importance of the Federation movement, and its success in defeating the Bible-in-Schools movement. He urged them to continue, as there were many other matters besides the Bible-in-Schools which required the united action of Catholics. He. wished the
meeting every success. The morning was taken up in discussing the report and balance-sheet. Each delegate also presented a report, which disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs.
