WITH TJIE AUSTRALASIANS. TRAINING PROCEEDING SATISFACTORILY. ANXIOUSLY AWAITING THE " TURKS. Eeceived "21, 11.30 p.m. London, January 21. Renter's Cairo correspondent writes that the training of Australians and New Zealanders is proceeding satisfactorily. The officers report that the men are making good progress. The men congratulate themselves on their tine training ground and the good weather. There are few cases of serious sickness, but a few deaths have occurred from: pneumonia. The New Zealand Contingent lias ordered forty motor ambulances in England to be ready when they go to the front. The men are anxiously awaiting the Turkish attack, but the latest news gives little hope of its eventuating. EGYPTIANS INDIFFERENT. Sydney, January 21. A member of the Expeditionary Force writing regarding the accession of the Sultan, says that the Egyptians are indifferent and by no means enthusiastic about the changes of Government. Many of them hated the Turkish yoke, and are now learning to love the Australasian soldier, not because they admire him personally, but because he spends his money freely. EX-KHEDIVE AND RELIGIOUS FUND. Cairo, Jan — 20. The commission appointed f :i quire into the administration of v ligious foundations belonging to the Kliedival family, report that grave irregularities have been revealed. The ex-Khedive, with the assistance of the directors of the foundation, has been withdrawing sums due to other members of the family. Sensational revelations are expected.
