CIVIC RECEPTION AT CHRISTCHURCH. ■ By Telegraph—Per Press Association Christchurch, January 20. ' The Hon. D. R. Hall was given a civic 'reception to-day. In a speech at the Town Hall, he said that New South Wales had a good deal to learn from New Zealand's forestry schemes, A Government that had the foresight to turn bad land into good, and at the same time bad men into good by employing prisoners at tree-planting, had done admirable work. Referring to the war, he said that New Zealanders had done more in comparison than Australians.
