A CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY. CAUSES OF THE INCREASE. Received 20. 11.35 p.m. Sydney, January 20. A conference of the Commodities Commission and representatives of the ■moat trade has been opened to discuss the high price of meat. Various causes have been assigned, such as increased population, decreased flocks, and herds drought, increased demand for choice cuts, advance in trade wages, and increased export to supply the war's demands.
