By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, January 13. A Hireling of the Duuedin division of the British Medical Association was held to-niglit. when a circular was received from the New Zealand Council of the Association soliciting support' for a movement to erect a military hospital at Trenthani. Resolutions to ' the, follow'ing eflK-t were carried: (1) That in the opinion of the Otago division, the respective spheres of private benevolence and State responsibilities with regard to the war should be clearly defined; (2) That the whole expense of sending the 'contingent to the war and their returning should be borne by the State; (3) That no private subscriptions should be raised or used for any purpose to which the whole Dominion'"was pledged; (4) 'That both the motor ambulance and hospital scheme fall within the duties of the State; (5) This branch recommends that ilie New Zealand branch should 'specially associate itself with (tie movement described in the British Medical Journal of November 21 for giving special help to Belgian doctors and pharmacists, who are suffering from the effects of the war.
