SALVATION ARMV BOYS' CONCERT. FOR BELGIAN RELIEF FUND. : • ■ .iiL A huge audience fully enjoyed the very brigln and interesting entertainment. given in the Theatre Royal last night by the liovs of the Salvation Army hit ham Boys' Home, assisted by the Ne-.v Plymouth Citizens' Band and 'New ,ith Orchestra. Mr 11. Okey, M.P., pre After a i.endidly played overture ty the. New I mouth orchestra, "A Son? of Ureeting'' >va» sung by the full company of boys very pleasingly, and much appreciated by the audience. Dumbbell drill followed, the lads giving a fine exhibition,. A recitation, entitled •"Tending the Baby," was then given by A. Cook, in g«od style. A song and chorus, "Help the Belgian Children," wa* excellently sung by lihe little lads and one little girl. The Swedish drill was Aery creditable and one of the distinctive features of the entertainment A;i 'action song, "These Two Little Eyes," was beautifully sung, and acted by a group of little lads in vivid red turbans and parti-coloured dresses. The Indian club drill which followed was capitally done, some of the. boys being really expert. Then came, '"lf Men were Boys," a comic wiih action, and the hall resounded with laughter and applause. A song, "My! Didn't it Rain," was than given bv the boys and followed by a well rendered patriotic recitation by 11. Cook, "Bring the Hen up to iho Colours." Indian stick drill concluded the first half of the programme. Following .the interval, a tableau "Red Cioss Brigafle on Active Service,'' was given, followed by a short speech by. Adjutant A. Scotnev, manager of the company, exhorting the people to give liberally io the Belgian Fund. A collection was then made throughout the hall by the hoys. A comic song, "Ten Little Juniors," was given by ten of tho little fellows, and was followed by some intricate running maze drill. A recitation by A. McAskill was well rendered. A solo, "Down in the Slums," was given by ,F. James, assisted by a chorus of boys, followed" by a company song, "Going to fhe. Party." Tableaux, drill and two songs, "In the Morning of Tour Lifetime," and "Good Night," brought a most enjoyable programme to a close. Tho audience joined tbe eempany in singing "Cod Siive the King." An especial feature was tho fine or- ' ganisation, everything being put through speedily and efficiently. Adjutant A'. Scol/Ticy, the manager, and Captain Thomas, who conducted the boys' drill, deserve great praise for their capable management. The concert was a hug.! success, approximately £53 having been taken, Vnich, with an estimated expenditure of £l3. yields the 'handsome sum of £4O io be handed over to the Belgian Fund Committee.
