REPRISALS THREATENED. A WARNING TO PRESIDENT WILSON AMERICA IS PRO-BRITISH. ANOTHER FALSE PASSPORT CONSPIRACY. London, January 6. _ Berlin says that President Wilson will, in the event of an unsatisfactory reply to his Note, prevent the export of many articles necessary to Britain. New York, January 0. Hie authorities have permitted an American citizen named Breitung to purchase the German steamer Dacia. It is understood that Breitung proposes to carry cotton to Germany. It is believed the Government will regard it as a test case concerning the right to transfer interned German steamers to their American register. The New York Herald warns the Government that it is necessary to guard against German pitfalls to involve America, and adds: "After all the overwhelming sentiment in America is friendly to the Allies"
London January 6 New York telegrams state that the Jewish Emancipation Committee is initiating plans with a view to having repiesentatives at the peace negotiations of the belligerents, in order to demand world-wide political emancipation. It is pointed out that hundreds of thousands of Jews are fighting in the different armies, and the war is demonstrating the justice of the Jewish demand for the same civic privileges and human rights as arc accorded Christians.
New York, January 6. The Herald states Ilia: fifty passports of neutrals other than American have been sold to German reservists. The fresh plot affects almost every neutral country in Europe.
