An estimate made by shipping firms here shows that steamers are available in January and February with refrigerator space for 1,601,000' carcases. Deducting 459,000 carcases the space reijitinid for meat is equal to 1,142,000 carcases. Shipments during the same two months last year were 1,288,000 earcasae, leaving a deficiency of 80,000 cataases, but in consequence of the strike there was a rush of exporting at the beginning of 1014. The deduction is that there is very little difference this year, not amounting to more juian one ship.
