ESCAPEE FROM WANGANUI. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wanganui, Yesterday. Phillip George Barnard, a prisoner on remand oil a charge of pocket-picking escaped from the police goal this morning by forcing the lock of his cell and the lock of the door - leading outside. The discovery that he was missing was made shortly after seven o'clock. A search was immediately instituted, but has so far been fruitless.
