RIFLE SHOOTING.
NO DOMINION MEETING THIS YEAR. Wellington, December 31. The Defence Department has asked Colonel Collins, chief executive officer of the Dominion Rifle Association, to arrange that this year's rifle meeting at Trentliam should not be held, as the camp equipment will not be available, ammunition has to be conserved, and the grounds and buildings at Trentham will be in constant use. The Department cannot assist with the usual staff, and it is more desirable to hold group and district meetings as more likely to readier the younger shots of the rifle clubs and Territorial force. The meeting for 1915 has therefore been abandoned.
