LONDON MARKET REPORT. Mr. ]•. Griffiths received the following market report from his London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated i London, November 13: — ' Butler —The market continues firm /or nil grades, particularly choicest de■;i:riiitioiis, which are in good request, and occasionally 2s per cwt higher. The ] imports continue light in comparison . \, ith the same period last year, and prices h;ok like remaining on a satisfactory lend to the end of the year. Quotations are: Danish, 13Gs to 1395; Sibcr- . ian, life to lifts. Australian.—Victorian lineal salted 124s to 120s, uncaltcd 128s to 130s, good line, salted 118s to 1225, unsalted 120s to 1245; New South Wales finest salted 122s to 1245, unsalted 124 a to l'is's.good fine salted 118s to 120s, uualted 122s to 12 is, unsalted 124s to - \-l% good line salted lhis to 120s, (in- I salted lIHs to 1225; New Zealand finest ■nited 120s to 128s, unsalted 128s to LSOs: Argentine finest salted 120s to 1245, unsalted' 122s to 120s. Colonial arrivals this week: Per s.s. Otway, 7150 boxes Australian, s.s. Bcmuera 15,881 boxes New Zealand, s.s. Ccvic 1998 boxes Australian. Cheese—The. market continues firm, quotations unchanged. Canadian 75s to Tiis; New Zealand 75s to 70s. The stocks of Canadian cheese in England on the Ist November were 43,000 cheese less than at the same time last year. Bacon.—Wiltshire cut: There has been a considerable improvement in the demand, as the low prices which were taken for the last til-rue or four weeks have, stimulated the trade to a large extent. Mild cured meats are rapidly affected by any changes in supply or demand, as the practice, of selling as they arrive is immediately reflected in the market value. The Wick closes 4s to Gs per cwt higher than last week. Irish alllbs to 701bs, 72s to 755, exceptionally 78s; Danish 501bs tf. 701bs 70s to 735, exceptionally 745: Canadian 50lb to 701b OSs to 70s, exceptionally 725. Cumberland cut: American values have come dearer and prices of all have slightly appreciated during the week with a much better tone. Canadian 72s to 745; American 71s to 72a. Long cut hams: There is an improvement in the general
tone of the market and hams are appreciating in value. Canadian 70s to 755; American 70s to 755. Square shoulders: The demand generally is quiet, although quotably dearer. American 04s to Cos. Lard.—American boxes 5Ss to 00s.
