For Australian Slates, South Africa, Ceylon, India, China, Japan, East Indies, Straits Settlements, Eastern and Mediterranean ports, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 12.20 p.m. (Correspondence for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe must be specially addressed "via Suez.") Due London January 29. (Money Orders close 11 a.m.) SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20. For Australian States, South Africa, China, and Straits Settlements, via Auckland, at 0.15 a.m. MONDAY, DECEMBER 28. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, West Indies, Central America, British, French and Dutch i Guiana, Venezuela, Ecuador, U.S. j. Columbia, United States of America ! : and Canada, via Vancouver; also ! Honolulu, Japan, and Fiji, at 0.1.5 a.m. Due London January 28. For Tonga and Samoa, via Auckland, at Gls a.m. For Wellington and South, daily, at 8.15 a.m. and 12.20 p.m. For Auckland and North, per steamer, Tuesday and Wednesday, at 7 p.m., daily, per train, at G.lo a.m. For Wanganui and intermediate offices, daily, at G. 15 a.m., 12.20 and 3.55 p.m. The times for closing mails for places beyond the Dominion arc liable to alteration (earlier or later). POST AND TELEORAPH DEPARTMENT. Postal Branch. —Friday, December io, and January 1 (Christmas Day and New Year's Day), will be observed as close holidays. On Saturday, December 20 (Boxing Day), the Post Ollice will be open in all branches, except Money-Order and Saving.? Bank, from !) a.m. to 10 a.m. Telegraph Office—The Telegraph Ollic; will lie open on Friday, the 25th hist. (Christmas Day), from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 5 to 5.30 p.m. On Saturday (Boxing Day unci Friday New Year's Day), the hours will be from 9 a.m. to -1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to S p.m. Telephone Exchange.—The Telephone Exchange will remain open continuously. Private-Box Lobby.—Sunday hours vrill be observed on December 25th and Januarv Ist; usual hours on December 20. Mails.—Mails usually despatched on Friday will be closed on Thursday nights, the 24th and 31st inst., at 8 p.m. On the 20th mst (Boxing Day), the usual despatch of mails up to 8 a.m., will be made, the receivers and posting boxes will be cleared accordingly. j The Travelling Post Office will run as usual. Counter Delivery.—Deliveries of town letters (ordinary and registered), will be made on the Thursday nights, the 2-1 th and 31st inst., from 8 to !l p.m. Letter-carriers' Deliveries. —One complete delivery by letter-carriers will be made on the 2(ith inst., commencing at 7.30 a.m. (There will by none on either Christmas Day or New Year's Day.)
